About a month ago, I submitted my latest album “#ALLin” to be considered forCleveland Music City’s #BESTCLEALBUMSOF2015. Each week in December,Cleveland Music City would reveal 2 albums from its Top 10 #BESTCLEALBUMSOF2015 list.
Each week I waited patiently to see if "#ALLin" made the list, and each week my anxiety seemed to intensify. As it turns out, I didn’t make the Top 10 #BESTCLEALBUMSOF2015.
As disappointment began to sink in, I wondered where my album would have landed on their Top 25 list. Would it even make the cut?
Well Cleveland Music City decided to release their Top 30 #BESTCLEALBUMSOF2015, and after thoroughly scanning the list, I didn’t make it. Was I disappointed? Yes. Do I feel like #ALLin should have made the list? Absolutely!
Even though I didn’t make the Top 30, I had to remind myself that this album isn’t defined by appearing/not appearing on their list. Instead of sulking in disappointment, I chose to look at this as a positive.
For starters, there were a lot of great (and deserving) artists on the list. Artists like Ray Flanagan & The Authorities, Brent Kirby and His Luck,Ohio Sky, and more! Additionally, I became a fan of a couple artists I had never been exposed to, such as By Light We Loom.
With that said, Thank You Cleveland Music City. Thank you for the consideration, and get ready for my 2016 submission.
